Ahmed Moor is a writer and CEO of liwwa, Inc. - a lender to small businesses in Egypt and Jordan. He was born in Palestine before his family moved to Sudan, followed by Sierra Leone, Haiti and Nepal. A job opportunity with the American Friends Service Committee caused his parents to move to Philadelphia. Today, Philly continues to be home. Ahmed graduated with a BA from Penn in 2006 and an MPP from Harvard University in 2013. He is passionate about poverty alleviation, social justice, and political engagement as a force for good in people's lives.
