Ana Benitez-Graham is an immigrant from Mexico

Fellowship awarded to support work towards an MD in Medicine at Duke University

ANA BENITEZ-GRAHAM is working in Mebane, NC at her own dermatology practice.

Ana came to the US from Mexico working alongside her family as a migrant farm worker.

Unable to complete high school, Ana received her graduation equivalent degree and attended Austin Community College before completing and self-financing a pharmacy degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She then graduated from Duke University School of Medicine 2004 and finished a residency in dermatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC.

Ana's interests lie in dermatologic diseases, particularly those that afflict farm workers, and in public policy.

Ana and her husband Steven have two children.
