CARLOS PACHECO works for the Boston Consulting Group in Los Angeles.

Carlos came to the United States from Mexico in the late 1990s.

Entirely self-financing his education through the University of Texas at Austin, he majored in computer science and mathematics. Later he completed a Ph.D. in computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Carlos completed internships at University of California at Berkeley, the Intel Corporation, and Compaq's Systems Research Center. At MIT he worked in Professor Michael Ernst's Program Analysis Group, researching better methods to find bugs in computer programs. Long interested in good science writing, he has also been a referee for Acta Informatica.
