Jinesh Shah is the child of immigrants from India

Fellowship awarded to support work towards an MD in Medicine at Columbia University

JINESH SHAH is a radiation oncologist with Advanced Radiation Centers of New York, where he treats patients with malignancies that require radiotherapy. He has a keen interest in serving immigrant populations in the NY metro area through his work, in particular addressing healthcare disparities in oncologic care through clinical practice that is based in cultural and linguistic competence.

Jinesh was born in Queens, New York to parents who are immigrants from India.

Jinesh graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University with a double concentration in biology and psychology and a certificate in mind/brain/behavior studies. Jinesh received his MD with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from Columbia University, and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Columbia University Medical Center where he served as chief resident. Jinesh has been a professor in the radiation oncology departments at NYU and Columbia University during his career.

Jinesh is married to Jenna Lee. They are profoundly delighted and blessed by the presence of their daughter, Eliana Lee Shah, in their lives.
