Shantanu Gaur is an immigrant from Canada

Fellowship awarded to support work towards an MD in Medicine at Harvard University

SHANTANU GAUR is the Co-founder of Allurion Technologies and a board member of Genetic Alliance. 

Shantanu was raised by Indian immigrants to Canada and later western Pennsylvania. He and his family are naturalized US citizens, residing in Canonsburg, PA.

Shantanu completed his A.B. in Biology from Harvard University, where he graduated summa cum laude with election to Phi Beta Kappa. His basic science research in college has been published in Human Molecular Genetics and Cancer Cell. In addition to his studies, he made time to found the Harvard Undergraduate Research Symposium and to jump-start the Harvard Cricket Club. As a medical student, he co-founded Allurion Technologies, a start-up developing a novel medical device for the treatment of obesity.
