Before joining SCAN, Sachin was the president and CEO of CareMore Health and Aspire Health from 2015-2020. There he developed the first scaled clinical program in the world focused on loneliness and social isolation. Prior to CareMore, Sachin was the chief medical information & innovation officer at Merk & Co and was also an attending physician at the Boston VA-Boston Medical Center and a member of the faculties at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School. Previously, he held leadership roles in the Department of Health and Human Services focusing on Medicare and Medicaid services.
“Sachin has given back to the Fellowship community in myriad ways as an alumnus, including mentoring new Fellows, providing guidance to me as a director, taking part in the interviews as a panelist, attending Fellowship events, and maintaining close friendships with his PD Soros colleagues,” Director Craig Harwood explained. “Sachin has been a steadfast source of support for this community. In addition to his passion for the organization, Sachin brings his lived experience as a doctor, business leader, the child of immigrants from India, and as a Fellow. I am thrilled that he has agreed to join the Board of Directors and look forward to working together.”
The current Board of Directors includes Allison Binns (2003 Fellow), Eric Chung (2016 Fellow), Peter Georgescu, Paul Holdengräber, Ann Kirschner, Noel Lateef, Daisy M. Soros, Jeffrey Soros, and Peter Soros.

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans provides merit-based funding for New Americans, immigrants and children of immigrants, who are poised to make significant contributions to U.S. culture, society and academia. Each year, we award 30 Fellows up to $90,000 to pursue their professional passions across a breadth of disciplines at the graduate institutions of their choice. For centuries, the contributions of immigrants have made our nation stronger. We believe that empowering New Americans with resources to further their education is a benefit for them, and equally a benefit for our nation and society.
